Ok i will try this too, not sure if i understand all that but i will try it.
As i see in the bug report, this seems to work for intrepid too?
Please keep me up2date!

There wasn't any updated 'linux-ubuntu-modules' in intrepid-proposed. I'm not sure why it said that.
If this new DRM code works with 2.6.27, that would be great! I'm really wondering whether Dell's image will use the same all_generic_ide hack, since all we know right now is that they made some kind of customized version of hardy, whose kernels have an issue there. Probably by starting with the lpia stuff, rather than staying on i386 as we are attempting to do.
I don't understand the need for a new architecture- whether it's more for UMPCs or also makes sense on the 12.
previously i talked to a guy from the moblin project, he got this thing running with mandriva on a 2.6.27 kernel (he wrote a patch for it), so perhaps that could also be a solution
So did the build finish on your mini? does it work now?
No, it didn't fix it. But I suspect there's still something wrong with my version of xorg. I can only load psb_drv.so if I have IgnoreABI in my config file- did you have to do this? Then I get "(EE) [drm] Could not uninstall irq handler" and X exits.
Some kind of chipset initialization is definitely taking place, though, because when I load the psb DRM it switches me over from a text console to frame buffer.
It would be useful to know if this is not working only because I upgraded most of my system to intrepid. You should try the compile on your install. Also, is your version of xserver-xorg-core 2:1.4.1~git20080131-1ubuntu9.2?
That's interesting about Mandriva.

I also need the IgnoreAbi!
I have to install the linux-source first, then i will start the compile.
And yes, i have the same xserver-core version
Do you know what i have to do in this case:
the file exists....The file /lib/modules/2.6.24-22-386/build/include/linux/version.h does not exist.
Please install the package with full kernel sources for your distribution
or use --with-kernel=dir option to specify another directory with kernel
sources (default is /lib/modules/2.6.24-23-generic/build).
Btw here is the build command I used:
At the very end, it will fail while trying to make the package. That's alright: you can just find drm.o and psb.o and copy them to /lib/modules/2.6.24-23-generic/kernel/drivers/char/drm. depmod -a, then modprobe.Code:fakeroot debian/rules binary-arch arch=i386 flavours="generic"
Gotta get some sleep, best of luck!
it seems to work with your command, i used another one, now i hope everythings compiles.
Could you change the resolution with the vesa-driver?
So, now sleep well, what timezone are you btw?
Okay, now the build has finished and i copied the new drm and the psb module to the lib/modules.
Now the driver loads and it also starts x but it looks very strange.
on the strg+alt+f1 it changes the resolution which looks much better.
I also get the firmware-message in dmesg.
I will try my luck in #moblin again
