    Installing Ubuntu 16.04 on a HP DL360 G2

    Hi folks,

    I am installing / trying to install Zorin v12 based on Ubuntu 16.04 32bit on a HP DL360 G2.

Ok ok i know....that is an oooooold system.

But still it works fine under Windows server software, so why dump it?

However i want to use it as a Linux desktop system as there are no fully certified Windows environments for
    this system.

I installed the server from a usb stick and all seems to be running ok.

However the DL360 g2 uses a ATI RAGE XL for video and what ever i try i can not get the screen resolution beyond 640x480!?

Most forums indicate that ATI RAGE series is a problem in Linux because of a lacking suitable driver.
But I found a forum mentioning that there may be a suitable generic driver, but i can not locate it.

Can anybody here help me solve this issue?

Your help would be very appreciated.

    Best regards
    Jan

Thread moved to Ubuntu/Debian BASED. which is more appropriate for the problem and should be a better fit.
