Angry /usr/bin/ld: cannot find : No such file ... When static compiling

I static compile this code https://github.com/kris-nova/boopkit.git ,it shows some error like below:

    Code:
    k8s@k8s:~/boopkit$ make static
    -> Building boopkit
    gcc -I/usr/local/include -g -lbpf -lelf -lpcap -lpthread -static -o boopkit boopkit.c common.c dpi.c -Wl,
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find : No such file or directory
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
    make: *** [Makefile:71: static] Error 1

And I add -v to find the detail:
    Code:
    k8s@k8s:~/boopkit$ gcc -I/usr/local/include -g -lbpf -lelf -lpcap -lpthread -static -o boopkit boopkit.c common.c dpi.c -Wl, -v
    Using built-in specs.

Re: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find : No such file ... When static compiling

    These Dependentices are needed

    eBPF and Loader Compile-Time Dependencies
    • ‘clang’
    • ‘linux-headers’
    • ‘llvm’
    • ‘libbpf’
    • ‘lib32-glibc’

    Boopkit runtime dependencies
    • Linux kernel with eBPF enabled/supported
    • Ncat running on the server
    • Root access

    This pertains to eBPF: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/KnowledgeBase/BHI
To help mitigate this new attack and to guard against any future possible privilege escalation attacks via eBPF, the ability for unprivileged users to load eBPF code into the kernel has now been disabled by default on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS 20.04 LTS, Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and Ubuntu 16.04 ESM as well.

Admins can re-enable this ability if needed it via sysctl 7:

    Code:
    sudo sysctl kernel.unprivileged_bpf_disabled=0
Admins can disable unprivileged eBPF until the next boot via:

    Code:
    sudo sysctl kernel.unprivileged_bpf_disabled=1
Admins can disable it, but allow it to be re-enabled by an admin without rebooting, via:

    Code:
     sudo sysctl kernel.unprivileged_bpf_disabled=2
To see the current status of unprivileged eBPF, do:

    Code:
     sysctl kernel.unprivileged_bpf_disabled
A result value of 1 or 2 indicates that unprivileged eBPF is disabled.
I thought I would just let you know if you did not already.
With realization of one's own potential and self-confidence in one's ability, one can build a better world.

Re: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find : No such file ... When static compiling

did you check to verify what might be at that file location?
    Code:
    ls -dl /usr/bin/ld
maybe there is a dangling symlink. maybe there is a file with a #! referring to a missing interpreter. maybe your /etc/ld.so.cache is out of date. many things gone weirdly wrong can cause that error message.
